Looking toward to Il Sasso di Pale (Pale’s stone), the mountain that protects the village, you can overlook a suggestive little church, known as the Eremo di Santa Maria Giacobbe (Saint Mary Jacob Hermitage, 13th century), accessible along the path mountain wall. “Tradition tells that Mary Jacob, one of the pious women, retreated in penance here.
